About the Simeon Market

Simeon Market is a chef-owned and operated hybrid bakery/deli. The chef, Bob Heck, graduated from Baltimore Culinary College in 1987. He has worked as a chef in California, the Outer banks of North Carolina, and most recently, at Zinc, here in Charlottesville. Chef Bob focuses on "New American" cuisine, which he describes as, "foods that are as fresh as possible. From the farm to the table, prepared as simply as possible to allow the indgredients to speak for themselves."

His ingredients really do speak for themselves. He puts a lot of thought into everything he makes, and he uses high-quality, simple, fresh ingredients. The turkey is sliced from a whole turkey, which he bakes himself. The spiced cranberries are prepared by hand with fresh orange zest and whole vanilla beans. Real ingredients; real food. The simple, fresh flavors he's designed his menu around might surprise you, but don't just take our word for it. Come on in and taste the difference for yourself!

What's Bob Cooking?

In keeping with Bob's fresh, back-to-basics approach, he's often busy baking rustic, old-world-style breads for you to take home and enjoy with your dinner tonight.  His homemade soups, sandwiches and quiche are available to-go.

If you are in the mood for something sweet, there is an assortment of mouth-watering scones, muffins, cookies and brownies for you to choose from. All of which are baked in our own kitchen.
